Vertu is a popular British manufacturer of luxury goods, it has been making luxury mobile phones for quite some time now which are known more for their craftsmanship, quality and premium materials as opposed to their specifications. The company’s mobile phones are more status symbol than powerful communication tool but its next device might change this perception.
Specifications of the next Vertu handset codenamed V06 have appeared online through GeekBench and from the looks of it this is going to be the most powerful device that Vertu has ever created.
It will have an octacore Snapdragon 810 processor from Qualcomm onboard coupled with 4GB of RAM, most high-end flagships from the likes of Samsung and LG only have 3GB RAM, and will come with Android 5.1.1 right out of the box.
Before the company was sold into private equity in 2013 its handsets used to run on Nokia’s Symbian OS, following the sale Vertu switched to Android OS and is sticking with it for the foreseeable future.
Currently no images of the Vertu V06 have appeared online so we don’t really know what it looks like, but seeing as how it’s a Vertu device one can be sure that it will be kitted with premium metals, leathers and even jewels for a truly one-of-a-kind look.
Vertu handsets have traditionally been priced at more that $8,000, don’t expect the new one to be any cheaper.
