Last year had been quite massive for OnePlus, as the company’s first smartphone OnePlus One marked great success at a price tag of $299. The device had hit the right chord with its amazing specifications and affordable pricing. Now, OnePlus is crossing its fingers to tread the same path to success with OnePlus 2 as it did with its predecessor OnePlus One.
OnePlus 2 is scheduled to be unveiled sometime later this month, but the Chinese wireless regulator TENAA has made the device’s pictures public, ahead of the official launch. The pictures depict the design of the OnePlus 2, which is somewhat similar to the OnePlus One except for one addition, that is the physical home button. This physical home button could most likely be much talked about “fingerprint scanner” with lightning quick identification. OnePlus teased this home button last month, saying that it works faster than the one provided in the iPhone 6’s TouchID system.
As per the TENAA listing, the device will come with a 5.5-inch QHD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and will have 32GB of internal storage. It will sport a 13-megapixel camera on the rear, an 8-megapixel camera on the front, and will be backed by a 3300mAh battery.
The company has announced various details about their upcoming flagship killer, giving us a fair idea about the device. The OnePlus 2 will come powered by a Snapdragon 810 CPU paired with 4GB of RAM, and a USB Type-C connector. Recent announcements also hinted that the device might as well feature two SIM slots. Although, we have an idea about the OnePlus 2’s specifications, but exact pricing of the device is still under wraps. OnePlus’s CEO, Pete Lau took to Twitter a month ago and announced that the device will range under $450. For the exact pricing and specifications, we got to wait till the launch of the device, which will be held on 27th of July.
