With Apple Music being integrated into iOS itself including the use and control of the service with Siri, we suppose it isn’t surprising that many users are finding it extremely compelling. In fact according to a recent finding, it seems that thousands of Spotify users appear to have left the platform in favor of Apple Music.
Now we should note that these numbers aren’t official numbers per se. Instead these numbers are based on social media status updates in which users are proclaiming to have waved goodbye to Spotify and choosing to go with Apple Music instead. However like we said these aren’t official numbers as these users could easily swap back to Spotify anytime they want, or maybe they changed their mind an hour later.
However it looks like Spotify is not alone in seeing the number of their subscribers decline. The research also found that this has affected other platforms such as Pandora, Google Play Music, Rdio, and Tidal. To be more specific, 2,500 users claimed on social media that they were leaving Spotify.
750 claimed to be quitting Pandora, 250 were said to be leaving Jay-Z’s Tidal service, all of which probably doesn’t seem like much, but it should probably be noted that these are just the users who have made their claims public, so until we see the official numbers from Apple or any of these companies, it’s really anyone’s guess as to how well these services are performing relative to each other.
