Over in the UK, it seems that Shell is starting to embrace the future by allowing PayPal to be used at its pumps. This means that users will soon be able to pay for gas using their PayPal accounts, which in turn reduces the need to queue up at the cashier to make your payment, and might also come in handy if you forget your wallet.
It can also serve as a safety feature where you can go out at night and make a payment via PayPal and safely leave your wallet/purse at home, so should anyone try to rob you, they’d basically make away with your wallet at most. Users will be able to choose to spend between £20 and £150 per transaction.
This feature has actually been in testing for the past few months and has started rolling out to more stations recently. Over in the US, Chevron has also announced a mobile payments method using Apple Pay which they too are trialing out at the moment. If you’re in the UK and you want to figure out how to use PayPal at Shell, hit up Shell’s website for the details.
