Samsung’s first Tizen smartphone was the Samsung Z1. It was assumed that the Samsung Z2 would be its successor, but apparently there is a Samsung Z3 in the works, and thanks to the folks at SamMobile, they have gotten their hands on some of the alleged specs of the upcoming device.
Starting with its display, word on the street has it that the Samsung Z3 could pack a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display. Its use of a HD resolution is a tad disappointing if true, but then again it could help to keep its price point down which in turn would allow Samsung to market it to customers with smaller budgets, such as those in emerging markets.
It is also rumored to pack a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC77305 processor which once again is an interesting choice as the typical options are either Qualcomm, Samsung’s own Exynos lineup, or even MediaTek. It will come with 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, both of which will sport 1/4-inch sensors, and will come with a 2,600mAh battery.
Unfortunately at this point in time it’s really anyone’s guess as to when Samsung will reveal the phone, but there is a good chance that we might learn more about it at IFA 2015 which takes place in September, so do check back with us then for the details.
