Mirrorless cameras are all the rage these days. For the most part they’re smaller and lighter than some DSLRs, making them easier to bring around and less conspicuous. They also take pretty amazing photos that could potentially rival entry-level DSLR models. Now if you’re in the market for a new mirrorless camera, Panasonic might have something for you.
Thanks to the folks at Digicame-info (via PhotoRumors), photos of the camera along with its specs have leaked. Based on the details of the photos and specs, we expect that it is only a matter of time before the official announcement is made, so until then do take it with a grain of sale, but for now hopefully this might be of interest to you.
The Panasonic GX8 Micro Four Thirds camera is said to feature a 20.3MP Live MOS sensor. It will sport a newly developed Venus engine and will come with a 6-control camera shake correction system. It will be capable of capturing video in 4K resolution and come with a tiltable 1.04 million dots organic EL display.
It also has a 2.36 million dots organic EL EVF that is tiltable as well, so if you prefer shooting through the EVF instead of the EL display, then this could be a useful feature. It is also said to sport a magnesium alloy body and has an AF speed of 0.07 seconds. There will also be WiFi, NFC, and QR connectivity options. Pricing and availability are unknown for now, but hopefully we will have the official details soon.
