Oppo is a brand out of China who just like Xiaomi, have been known to create cheap and affordable handsets for the masses. The company has recently announced the latest addition to their portfolio in the form of the Oppo Mirror 5s. The company has announced previous Oppo Mirror smartphones in the past, so basically this is the latest one.
It does not exactly have the best specs or the specs necessary to take on the likes of Samsung, Apple, LG, HTC, and etc., but like we said price is probably its main selling point. In terms of hardware, the Oppo Mirror 5s will sport a 5-inch display with a 720p HD resolution. Not the highest out there but like we said, it’s probably done to keep its price down.
Under the hood, the handset will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 8MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, dual-SIM support, LTE connectivity, and it will run on ColorOS 2.1 which is basically Oppo’s take on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
No word on pricing unfortunately but given its specs and given Oppo’s history of creating affordable devices, we highly doubt that the Oppo Mirror 5s will be breaking the bank anytime soon. No word on availability either although there is a good chance it might be limited to the Chinese market, although the company has in the past made their phones available in the US every now and then.
