wwydft2For a company that was started only a few years ago, OnePlus has been making a name for themselves on the Android scene with the OnePlus One in 2014, and following it up with the OnePlus 2 in 2015. Now the latter handset has yet to be released but once again it looks like OnePlus will be relying on a novel way of bringing attention to the device.

The company has recently announced a new contest in which they are asking what would customers do to get their hands on the new OnePlus 2. In fact they have listed 10 different challenges that users can participate in, such as creating an app for the OnePlus community, write a poem or sing a song, interrupt a live performance wearing a OnePlus t-shirt, organize a flash mob, and so on.

Basically it sounds as if OnePlus is asking you to do the marketing for them, and in return they might give you a OnePlus 2 for free, which is certainly a lot cheaper than having to pay for it themselves. Unfortunately only 22 winners will be chosen and if you’d like to be one of those 22, hit up their website, check out the challenges and rules, and submit them when you’re ready!

Like we said this isn’t the first time OnePlus has resorted to novel marketing tactics. Last year with the OnePlus One, they asked customers to smash their old phones, with the first 100 to do so getting a free handset in return. In the meantime if you’d rather not resort to these challenges, you can go ahead and request for an invitation to purchase the phone, although last we checked the wait list was about 800,000 customers in.
