Some of you guys are probably wondering why this is the case? As it turns out, it seems that the lack of use of NFC from the OnePlus One owners was the reason the company decided to omit the feature from the second-gen handset. According to OnePlus, “We heard from a lot of users of the One and saw most of our users weren’t using NFC.”
Is this true? We suppose to a certain extent it is believable. After all many users are already familiar and used to using Bluetooth to connect to wireless speakers, plus mobile payments aren’t as widespread yet, although Google did announce Android Pay so with the omission of NFC on the phone, it looks like OnePlus 2 owners won’t be able to get in on that.
We suppose ultimately it also helps to shave a couple of bucks off the production of the handset since it is one less component. We doubt the lack of NFC will be a deal-breaker for some of you guys, but in case it is, then this is something you should probably take note of if you decide to buy the phone.
