The OnePlus 2 has been deemed to be a smartphone that is ahead of its time, otherwise how else could the folks over at OnePlus declare that this device is a “2016 flagship killer,” never mind the fact that we are still in 2015 and it is set to roll out later this year? Certainly a bold – very bold, statement to say the least, and it seems that the custom OS that comes with the OnePlus 2 (aka OxygenOS that is based on Android) will offer what OnePlus claims, “features that won’t be available on other devices until Android M.”
It makes for interesting trumping up of its capabilities, but is OnePlus aware that Google themselves, too, are working to roll out its very own high-end Nexus handsets that will run on the Android M platform later this 2015? Apart from that, there should also be other smartphone manufacturers that will introduce Android M-powered smartphones before the year is over, too, so the claim of a “2016” flagship killer” might be premature to say the least. At least we do know some bits of what to expect about the OnePlus 2, among them include an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB RAM, a USB Type-C connector, a 3300 mAh battery, and a fingerprint scanner.
