The Xbox One is great at entertainment, PlayStation 4 not so much. That doesn’t mean Sony’s console can’t do entertainment, it does allow you to stream content from the likes of Netflix, PlayStation Vue, Hulu and many other services. Since there’s no dedicated media remote for the console you’re stuck with the DualShock 4 controller in order to navigate through these content services and if that irks you then you should definitely pay attention. An officially licensed media remote for the PlayStation 4 is going to be launched soon.
PlayStation 4 has been all about gaming since it arrived on the scene back in 2013 and perhaps that’s one of the reasons why the Xbox One is still unable to achieve the sheer sales volume of its rival. Only recently did Sony see it fit to add a media player to the console.
Accessory manufacturer PDP has developed an officially licensed media remote for the PlayStation 4 which is going to make it a lot easier to navigate content streaming sources on the console as well as the TV when you’re in the mood to watch a movie and not rob armoured trucks in GTA 5.
PDP hasn’t officially announced when the remote will be available for purchase but it’s already listed on Amazon for $30 with shipments beginning in October this year.
