We suppose it isn’t a secret that Microsoft is working on Office 2016 for Mac computers, but the good news is that if you were looking forward to using Microsoft’s productivity suite of apps, you’re in luck as the Redmond company has recently announced that they are releasing Office 365 for Mac.
This is no doubt good news but there is a slight catch. The catch is that Office 2016 for Mac will only be available to Office 365 subscribers at the moment. This means is that if you’re not subscribed to Office 365 and would much rather just buy the standalone version of Office 365 for your Mac computer, you’d be out of luck.
Microsoft has no plans to launch that particular version until September, so you’ve still got a couple of months to go until that happens. In the meantime if you are an Office 365 subscriber, you can go ahead and get your hands on the latest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.
Prior to this, Office 365 for the Mac was released as a Preview for Mac users, where according to Microsoft it was met with rather high approval from its users. The release of Office 2016 is not the final version as Microsoft has stated that they have plans to keep the software updated and improvement over time.
