Last week, we brought you word on how Nokia teased us with a VIP event that will be held on the 28th of July, and in there, we also did make a passing mention on new product announcements such as wearable technology and VR headsets, but here we are with something more concrete (you still got to take it with a pinch of salt, of course) concerning the Virtual Reality (VR) headset. Insider sources that were quoted by Re/code claimed that Nokia’s VR product will be the result of work gone on at Nokia Technologies.
Nokia Technologies happens to be the very same division that rolled out the Nokia N1 tablet, not to mention having announced that they will also put on sale smartphone designs that start from 2016 onward, with the division itself being involved in a range of software projects, including the predictive Nokia Z Android app launcher.
This does seem to be more concrete taking into consideration how Nokia’s invitation for the VIP event that you see above does have some hints about a possible VR headset. It makes perfect sense to be moving in such a direction as well, taking into consideration how the likes of Oculus, Microsoft, HTC, and Samsung are making attempts to muscle their way into the VR arena as well. Ah well, we will just have to wait until the 28th of July in order to find out more.
