As many of you have heard by now, Nintendo is working on a new console called the Nintendo NX. Not much is known about the console for now, like what kind of features it could have, what it looks like, or when it will be officially detailed. It is obvious given that Nintendo decided to skip on unveiling it publicly this year at E3 that 2015 is a no-go, but what about next year?
According to a report from DigiTimes, it has been suggested that come July 2016, Nintendo could very well release their Nintendo NX console. DigiTimes claims that Foxconn will be the company manufacturing the console and that supply partners for the components have also been asked to begin pilot production in October.
The final orders are expected in February/March 2015 and mass production will officially kick off in May/June in time for its release in July. Assuming that all of this is true, there is a good chance that next year’s E3 could be when Nintendo takes the wraps off the console as well as announce a release date.
Now Nintendo has been pretty quick to quash rumors so we guess we will just have to wait and see if they will respond to this one. In the meantime Nintendo seems to be rather optimistic about the NX, claiming that it will definitely surprise everyone. For a moment it was rumored that it could be powered by Android, but those rumors were refuted.
