When the Moto 360 was first announced, it made waves namely because unlike the other smartwatches out there, it was round and had a more traditional design that was decidedly less geeky. Of course since then many manufacturers have followed in Motorola’s footsteps. Now we know Motorola has a new smartwatch in the works, but the question is when will we see it?
Perhaps we won’t have to wait much longer. According to reports, it seems that a smartwatch from Motorola has recently made its way through the FCC. The device is made by Motorola Mobility and under product type it says “Smart Watch”. Given that Motorola only has the Moto 360 and that we’ve seen leaked images, chances are this is the next-gen model.
Unfortunately the FCC listing does not give away any of its specs/features, save for the fact that it will come with Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, which we guess is to be expected. The FCC listing also notes that testing on the device was completed recently on the 22nd of July. We’re not sure when the device will be launched, but usually a sighting at the FCC hints that it could be soon.
Perhaps we might learn more at IFA 2015 which is in September, but either way do check back with us in the coming weeks/months for the details.
