Moto G (2015)’s Water Resistant Abilities Seen On Video

We do know that Motorola’s third generation Moto G device is about to be revealed to the world real soon, but the thing is, when? Official hardware specifications have not made their way out just yet, so we are still surviving from scraps of rumors here and there. Well, it seems that there is a video that depicts the new version of the Moto G that boasts of a IPX7 certification. In other words, IPX7 certification translates to the handset being able to remain fully submerged in up to 3.28 feet of water up to a length of 30 minutes, without suffering from any kind of damage – theoretically speaking, of course. Isn’t this far more effective than having just nano-coating protection?

In fact, the video above shows off the third generation Moto G handset remaining soaked in the rain for up to 5 minutes, and it continues to work just fine. Another test saw the Moto G getting dunked in a bowl of water that measures up to a foot in depth, and it remained in there for slightly more than half an hour. The result? It worked fine afterwards, although the music playback was a wee bit muffled, but that was fixed after shaking it off.

The Moto G (2015) will be available on Virgin Mobile and US Cellular as well, in addition to the major mobile providers, of course.
