We can only assume that during Motorola’s US event that they too will announce the phone, but for now it seems that Motorola India might have gotten ahead of them. That being said, the device should be the same in India and in the US, so in terms of hardware, we doubt there will be any differences.
So what does the Moto G (2015) have in store for us? As per the rumors, the handset will feature a 5-inch HD display. Under the hood, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset can be found along with 1GB or 2GB of RAM, depending on the model you go for. It will also sport a 13MP rear-facing camera whose sensor is the same one in the Nexus 6, dual-tone flash, and a f/2.0 aperture.
It will also sport a 5MP front-facing camera, a 2,470mAh battery, and will also be IPX7 certified meaning that it should be able to withstand short dips in the pool. Storage will come in 8GB or 16GB options, with the former belonging to the 1GB RAM model, while the latter is for the 2GB RAM model.
Some features such as Moto Display will be preinstalled, along with Quick Capture, and a feature called Chop Twice which basically lets users turn on the phone’s flash by shaking it twice. It will also have access to Moto Maker but since it isn’t available in India yet, the company will offer customizable back covers in its place.
Pricing in India is at $187 for the 1GB/8GB model, and $203 for the 2GB/16GB model, but these are prices for the Indian market and it might be different stateside, so do check back with us later for the US launch for the details.
