In fact, the now delayed Surface Hub was built based on technology that Microsoft picked up three years ago when it purchased the Perceptive Pixel company. Microsoft’s hopes for this particular giant tablet is to help folks improve collaboration in the boardroom, as well as to replace the digital projector. Oregon is rich in history where electronic display technology is concerned, and Microsoft leveraged on this fact by hiring veterans of InFocus and other Silicon Forest businesses so that the new Surface Hub will be realized.
I guess this means that the planned September 1st release date for the Microsoft Surface Hub is not going to happen, although an update is set to be revealed next month.
