Microsoft has recently announced that they are launching a new web page which basically consists of an online form that users can fill up. They will be asked several questions and will have to submit some documents for verification, such as a police report, a restraining order, a court order, and so on to prove that their request is real.
Once that’s all been verified, Microsoft will then proceed to remove the link from its Bing search engine, as well as remove access to the content should it be stored on Microsoft’s OneDrive or Xbox Live services. Now this service isn’t “new” per se, but rather Microsoft has tried to simplify the process to make it easier and more straightforward for users.
Microsoft also points out that once a link has been removed, it will be removed from their services globally. However it should be noted that this is only removal from one search engine and that the content will continue to exist if hosted elsewhere, but at the very least it will make it harder for users to search for it in the future.
