They will be taking a page out of the Nokia Icon/Lumia 930 playbook and will apparently be constructing their next Lumia flagship out of metal.
A metal-built handset will no doubt be a hit amongst fans, especially when the competition from Apple and Samsung are already producing devices on that level. That and the brand new Windows 10 operating system should help the handset generate a fair bit of buzz, but whether or not it will be good enough to see a higher adoption remains to be seen.
In the meantime Microsoft has recently made a $7.8 billion write-off and has also cut about 7,800 jobs, mostly from its mobile division which has left many worried about the future of mobile at Microsoft.
