Over in South Korea, LG has recently announced a new flip phone in the form of the LG Gentle. On the surface it might not seem like much, but under the hood the handset is actually powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset. It also come with 1GB of RAM and will also sport a touchscreen display with a resolution of 320×480.
The phone will also come with a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 0.3MP front-facing camera, and a 1,700mAh battery and is expected to launch in South Korea come 29th of July. It will also be an exclusive for the LG U+ carrier and will be priced around the $171 mark. Now chances of the phone launching outside of South Korea is a bit slim.
However LG isn’t alone when it comes to launch flip phones in today’s day and age. Just last year Samsung launched their own Android flip phone in China, and earlier this year Sharp launched their own flip phone in Japan where such devices are pretty common and in relative demand.
