LG G4 Beat Mid-Range Smartphone Announced

The LG G4 is the company’s current flagship smartphone, however if the handset is too expensive for your tastes, you might be interested to learn that LG has announced a variant of the handset in the form of the LG G4 Beat. The phone will be partially based on the LG G4, but will sport slightly downgraded specs in order to make it more affordable.

So what can we expect from the LG G4 Beat? Well for starters instead of packing the large 5.5-inch QHD display of the LG G4, the Beat will instead feature a smaller 5-inch Full HD display, which we suppose is actually not a bad thing. Under the hood, the Beat will also be turning to the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core chipset versus the Snapdragon 808 found on its bigger brother.

The phone will also be accompanied by 1.5GB of RAM, a paltry 8GB of storage, and a 2,300mAh battery. That being said, the camera of the phone is where it truly shines, at least according to LG. The company is boasting that it will feature an 8MP rear-facing camera with a Color Spectrum Sensor and Laser Auto Focus, and a 5MP front-facing camera with Gesture Interval Shots.

As for pricing, it remains unknown but as far as availability is concerned, the handset will be making its way to “key markets in Europe and Latin America, including France, Germany and Brazil” later this month. It is also expected to make its way to Canada, India, Russia, Singapore, South Africa and Turkey at a later date.
