Just like jailbreaking iOS devices, rooting Android devices sometimes it isn’t always possible right away and depending on the phone, it could take developers a while to figure it out. Now interestingly enough, it looks like the LG G4 on AT&T and Verizon is especially hard to root with developers not having luck even until now.
In fact they are so frustrated that it seems that owners of the handset have banded together and raised a whopping $2,000 to act as a reward to anyone who can root the handset. That being said, there are actually two bounties – one is to find a bootloader unlock method with root and a custom recovery, while the other is just for root/recovery.
The person who manages to do this will also need to provide step-by-step instructions along with screenshots on how to do it before they are able to claim the reward. If you think you’re capable of rooting the phone and claiming the prize, head on over to the XDA forums for the details.
Alternatively if you want to donate some money to help encourage more developers to come out of the woodwork and lend their support, you can do so by popping on over to the XDA forums as well.
