With a name like that, we can only assume that it is water-resistant to a certain degree, and it is. The Hydro Wave has been given an IPX5 and IPX7 rating meaning that it is water-resistant, although you should probably not go deep-sea diving with it. It will also have an IP5X certification with a Military Standard 810G which supposed makes the handset durable when it comes to drops or shocks.
In terms of specs, the handset will sport a 5-inch qHD display under the hood, it will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. There will be 1GB of RAM accompanying the phone with 8GB of onboard storage expandable via microSD, Bluetooth and LTE connectivity, a 2,300mAh battery, and Android 5.1 running the show.
The handset is currently available from T-Mobile but if you’re a MetroPCS customer, you guys will have to wait until the 27th of July which is when the handset will make its way onto the carrier’s network.
