However it looks like they could be well on their way with the Huawei Honor 7. The Honor 7 was announced a couple of weeks ago and according to Huawei, it turns out that the handset is a hit, so much so that the company is boasting that they have received as many as 9 million pre-orders of the phone to date.
What makes this even more impressive is the “limited” launch of the handset which is currently only available in China. “The smartphone honor 7 was launched in China last week and has already received orders for 9 million units, just one week following the launch. This makes it the first Honor product to generate the highest demand in such a short time,” reads Huawei’s press release.
As a quick recap for those who missed the announcement, the Huawei Honor 7 is Huawei’s latest smartphone. It features a unibody made out of aluminum alloy and will sport a 5.2-inch 1080p display. It will be powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 935 chipset and will come with a 20MP rear-facing camera, an 8MP front-facing camera, a 3,100mAh battery, a fingerprint scanner, and all of this will be priced starting at a very affordable $320.
