Back in June, HTC issued an update to the HTC One M9 that supposedly brought about some improvements to the phone, most notably to its camera. However it turns out that the update has caused some weird issues to happen to some owners of the device. There have been some users reporting that after the update, their phones are now charging slower than before.
Now charging time really depends from user to user, since using your phone while it charges would technically slow it down a bit. However according to a couple of users, their phones took a whopping 13 hours to fully recharge its 2,840mAh battery, which we’re sure is way longer than anyone would reasonably expect.
Like we said charging time really depends on what you’re doing with your phone, but by comparison, HTC’s bundled charger and USB cable supposedly takes 106 minutes to fully recharge the phone, so safe to say 13 hours is way, way longer than what’s advertised. The good news is that HTC UK has at the very least acknowledged it.
According to their rep, it seems that a temporary fix would be to uninstall Google Photos, although we’re not sure how Google Photos has contributed to this issue. In any case any other HTC One M9 users out there afflicted by this problem too?
