Back in June, the folks at IO Interactive took the wraps off a brand new Hitman game. While the gameplay trailer might have given us a glimpse as to what we might eventually expect, a new video uploaded by YouTuber Synn Trey reveals what the developers have managed to cook up so far.
Now it should be noted that the footage is leaked footage from the game’s closed alpha. What this means is that unlike open betas or even open alphas, the footage isn’t meant to be seen by others, plus it is in its alpha stage so what you see might not necessarily make it into the final game, so that’s worth taking note of.
For example as Synn Trey notes, the framerate in the game isn’t exactly perfect at the moment, but as he pointed out, this is still an alpha version of the game. Presumably the final version will be much better optimized. However despite that, we have to admit that the game looks pretty good so far.
The environments look very promising, and pretty realistic in the sense that walking through the crowd will have the NPCs react to you pushing them out of the way. Admittedly it’s not the most exciting footage, but like we said if you’re curious to see what IO Interactive has up their sleeves, this could be one way to check it out.
The game is expected to be released come 8th of December, so hopefully open betas will begin in the coming months. In the meantime enjoy the footage above, at least until IO Interactive/Square Enix takes it down.
