Even though Verizon released the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Galaxy Note 4 back in April it didn’t provide the same treatment to the Galaxy Note Edge, a handset that Samsung released alongside the Galaxy Note 4 last year. Verizon has made Note Edge owners wait for a long time even while rival carriers released Lollipop for their variants, but today it’s finally coming through. The Galaxy Note Edge is receiving the much awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop update on Verizon today.
Verizon has started rolling out this update for the Galaxy Note Edge over-the-air, it carries software version LRX22C.N915VVRU2BOF2 and brings the device up to Android 5.0.2.
Everything that you have come to expect from Lollipop is included in this update, such as the Material Design user interface, new features, performance and stability improvements as well as some Samsung-branded applications.
Given that Verizon is just now releasing Lollipop for the Galaxy Note Edge it goes without saying that Android 5.1.1 won’t be coming for this handset in the very near future, particularly on Verizon, a carrier which is known for taking its sweet time with software updates.
Users should keep in mind that the update is going to come in around 1GB so they’ll need to connect to a Wi-Fi network before downloading this software update.
