Many of us had been waiting for the IFA convention in September because that’s where Samsung traditionally releases new Galaxy Note handsets, but this time around the company appears to be shifting gears for the Galaxy Note 5. It has already been reported multiple times that it’s pushing the launch to August presumably to compensate for lacklustre Galaxy S6 sales and to fend off competition from the new iPhones. Multiple sources “confirm” today that the new Note handset will be launched on August 12th.
According to the sources Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be officially launched on August 12th in New York with release to follow in a fortnight in at least some major markets.
It’s also claimed that the Galaxy Note 5 will be released in those markets on August 21th and it won’t be alone, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is said to be coming alongside it.
Galaxy Note 5 is expected to feature very slim bezels quite similar to the Galaxy A8, a 5.67 inch QHD display, an Exynos 7422 processor and it will be Samsung’s first smartphone to feature 4GB of RAM.
As the name suggests the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is basically a larger variant of the Galaxy S6 Edge with a bigger display, an Exynos 7420 processor and 3GB RAM. Everything else will remain the same.
Pricing and availability will vary as per market.
