It has been about a month or so since Bethesda launched its first mobile game, Fallout Shelter. The game was initially released for iOS devices, but Bethesda did promise that it would arrive on Android devices around August, or so they hoped. It looks like things have progressed rather nicely because according to a recent tweet by Bethesda, we have an official release date.
If you were looking forward to seeing what the fuss behind Fallout Shelter is all about, Bethesda has confirmed its Android release for the 13th of August which is about 3 weeks away! Granted those 3 weeks might feel a tad agonizing especially if you’ve been eagerly anticipating the game, but at least we now have a more specific date to look forward to.
Presumably the Android version of the game won’t differ from the iOS version in terms of gameplay/mechanics. However we have to admit we are curious to see if the Android version will be met with the same enthusiasm as the iOS version, especially since the hype around the game has subsided a bit.
That being said, the iOS version did reportedly rake in a whopping $5.1 million in terms of in-app revenue for the developer, so here’s hoping that the Android version will do just as well, if not better. In the meantime for iOS users who have yet to check it out, you can download it via the iTunes App Store. So, who’s excited for Fallout Shelter?
