So it has been confirmed that Capcom is working on a Resident Evil Zero HD remake, and while that has yet to be released (it has been pegged for 2016), it seems that Capcom is looking to embark on their next Resident Evil project, which at the moment sounds like it could be a Resident Evil 2 remake.
This is according to a recent post on the official Resident Evil Facebook page in which Capcom wrote, “Enthusiasm for a Resident Evil 2 Remake is something we’ve been hearing from you over the years, and has drawn some recent attention in the media.” They then went on to ask gamers if a Resident Evil 2 remake is something they might be interested in.
“However, as the team owns the RE brand, we’re not certain how we feel about this approach, and would like to ask your honest and frank opinion about the “Resident Evil 2 Remake” and what the brand identity is supposed to be about?” Now we should point out that this is by no means a confirmation that a remake will take place.
However as far as Capcom is concerned, it does make for a pretty good gauge for gamer interest. After all why rehash an old – but classic – game if no one is interested, right? If a remake is something you’d like to see happen, then pop on over to their Facebook page and leave a comment. In the meantime what say you? Yay or nay?
