Update – @evleaks clarifies that the image he posted was that of the BlackBerry Passport – nothing to see here folks!
According to an earlier report, it was suggested that the BlackBerry Venice handset could be headed for AT&T. The Venice, from what we know about it so far, is a slider phone that supposedly runs on Android. However it seems that it might not be the only Android phone that BlackBerry has planned.
A new tweet by @evleaks has revealed a render of what appears to be the BlackBerry Passport with Android running on top of it. Now we are only assuming that it is the Passport based on its keyboard design, but there is a chance that it could be another phone that mimics the Passport’s design. It is also possible that image of Android on the phone might be from an Android app ported onto BlackBerry.
That being said, there have been rumors in the past suggesting that BlackBerry has more than one Android phone in the works. There have been talks about a certain BlackBerry Prague that is supposed to be a low-end Android phone, although honestly the rendering does not seem like it is a low-end handset if it does follow the Passport’s design.
What this could mean, apart from the rumor being completely baloney, is that there might be a third BlackBerry Android phone in the works. It does seem like a stretch but given @evleaks’ track record of accurate leaks and information, it might be the real deal. However until we hear otherwise, do take it with a grain of salt for now.
