The BlackBerry Dallas is an upcoming BlackBerry handset that we have been hearing about for a while now. The handset was recently certified in Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, and if you’re wondering when the handset will actually launch, it could be soon.
According to a recent FCC filing, it seems that the BlackBerry Dallas has made its way stateside. Unfortunately the filing does not tell us much about the handset as is usually the case, but all devices need FCC approval before going on sale, so at the very least what we can take away from this is that the handset is now one step closer to launch.
Now in terms of hardware specs, the BlackBerry Dallas is rumored to be a slightly less premium version of the BlackBerry Passport. It is said to sport a 4.5-inch display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor under the hood. Its display resolution will be 1440×1440 and it will be accompanied by 3GB of RAM.
There will also be a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, and instead of being made from premium materials like the Passport, the Dallas could instead be made of less premium materials which could help keep its price down. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to get a confirmation.
