Apple has tried quite hard to push the Apple Watch as more of a fashion accessory than a conventional smartwatch, there already are a lot of those available in the market and Apple certainly wants its first wearable device to stand out from the crowd. It won’t be standing out too much from the crowd though since it’s likely to be sold in the smartwatch aisle over at Best Buy, the retailer is going to start selling the smartwatch from next month.
This will be the first time that the Apple Watch is sold outside of the company’s own retail stores, it also shows that Apple is more confident about ensuring supply to retailers, since the Apple Watch struggled with supply issues soon after launch.
More than 100 Best Buy locations will have the Apple Watch in stock, it will also be sold through the retailer’s website, Best Buy plans on bringing it to over 300 locations by the holiday season.
Customers will be able to purchase the aluminum Apple Watch Sport models and the stainless steel models from Best Buy, those who want to spend $10,000+ on a solid gold Apple Watch Edition will have to visit one of the select Apple Stores that have it in stock.
Apple Watch will be available for purchase at Best Buy starting August 7th.
