AT&T Galaxy S5 Receives Big Update

AT&T has just rolled out a rather hefty update for the Galaxy S5 but there’s no need to be excited, it’s not the one that people have been waiting for, it’s not Android 5.1 Lollipop. The update doesn’t even bump up the core Android OS version on the device as it merely brings performance, security and stability related fixes which just might help improve the performance of the Galaxy S5. No major new features or changes are included in said update.

The update being rolled out today by AT&T for the Galaxy S5 comes in at just under 300MB which is quite substantial for an incremental update of this kind, build number G900AUCU4BOF2 is rolling out right now and will soon land on users’ devices.

AT&T’s official support document for this update reveals that the device stays put on Android 5.0 after the update but it does bring some rather important performance and stability related improvements.

In theory this should mean that once the update is installed you should see a noticeable improvement in the performance of your Galaxy S5 on AT&T.

AT&T has not yet said when it intends to follow T-Mobile’s suit and start sending out Android 5.1 when that’s really the software update that many are keeping their fingers crossed for.
