When it comes to rolling out smartphones, the name Archos does not ring too much of a bell, really, but this does not mean that they have no experience in this particular department. In fact, Archos has come up with their fair share of handsets in the past, and look set to continue for the future. Earlier last month, Archos did reveal their Archos 50 Helium Plus model, and this time around, we are looking at the official reveal of the Archos 50d Helium.
This Android-powered smartphone will run on a Qualcomm processor, where it will hit the market with an asking price of $129 a pop – unlocked, of course. As for the version of Android running it, it will be Android 5.1 Lollipop. In terms of capability, the Archos 50d Helium ain’t too shabby at all, as it comes with LTE and dual SIM support, a 5” IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution, a front-facing 5MP camera, a 13MP shooter at the back with an LED flash accompanying it, a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, and a 2100 mAh battery.
You can choose from Storm Blue and Stone Grey interchangeable back covers, depending on your taste. Expect the 50d Helium to arrive in US and Europe later this month. [Press Release]
