Speaking to Government Technology, researcher Ben Brautigam said, “The thing with wearables is that these are highly personal devices, even more personal than your smartphone. We can take this customized point of view to provide recommendations to students to enrich certain aspects of their learning.”
How would the wearable be used as a learning tool, you ask? Well for starters, the researchers have come up with ideas such as using it as study reminders, a personal tracker, and to help generate user success metrics. It can also be used to prompt users about whether or not they understand the topic at hand which in turn could provide additional help and details on how to proceed.
Of course all of this is dependent on the user actually owning an Apple Watch or a wearable for that matter, but it is an interesting direction which shows some of the possibilities that wearable technology could be used for in the future.
