At the end of May earlier this year, Google introduced the Android M Developer Preview, right after they had lifted the curtain from some of the more important new features that can be found in the most recent mobile operating system rollout. It was at the same time that Google made a promise, citing that the M Developer Preview would be on the receiving end of a couple of updates prior to making the sure that the software itself is stable enough to be used by the masses. Having said that, these updates were tipped to arrive at the end of last month, or perhaps even at the end of this month if things get delayed.
Well, better late than never would apply here, as the first update to the Android M Developer Preview is now available. You have a choice of picking one of the new system images from the developer preview website and perform a manual installation, or to wait for the device to keep you informed that it is ready and waiting in the wings to be downloaded.
This marks the first time that Google has made available the update via an Over The Air (OTA) route, and Google figured out that all devices which feature the original preview image at the moment should be able to pick up the latest update in a matter of a few days’ time – so do not fret if you have yet to see it on your device.
