Amazon Echo is a virtual assistant for your home that wakes up when you say “Alexa” followed by a voice command, it’s capable of doing a lot of things, such as reading you the news, giving you weather information, answering questions by looking up their answers online and it can even control smart home devices. The Echo is now capable of controlling Wink-compatible smart home devices through voice commands as well.
Wink hub brings together all of the different connected devices in the home, allowing for easy control through one location. Any smart device that’s Wink-compatible can thus be controlled by giving voice commands to the Echo.
There are many different devices that work with the Wink such as a plug-in lamp dimmer, LED lights and much more whereas the Echo is already capable of controlling devices like the Philips Hue lightbulbs and Belkin WeMo smart switches.
Thus controlling all of these devices becomes very easy, all you need to do for example is say “Alexa, turn off the lights,” and Echo will relay that command to the relevant smart home device to get the correct result.
Amazon Echo also doubles as a Bluetooth speaker and is capable of streaming music from the cloud so you can say “Alexa, play some soft music,” once you’ve ordered it to turn off the lights.
