ZTE has just announced that its smartphones and tablets will now come pre-equipped with AVG AntiVirus suite. AVG and ZTE announced the new found partnership, which is formed on a pre-text to provide consumers with a free AVG’s security suite.
However, the basic glitch here is, that it will be a mere 60-day trial and won’t be sticking around for long. After the expiration of the trial, users will be required to purchase an annual subscription. In case they’re not interested in buying it, then they can simply wipe-off (uninstall) the suite from their device. ZTE and AVG have not revealed the financial details about the partnership.
It might not count as a smart move by ZTE as there are many free-to-use AntiVirus suites available for Android OS and users might not even be asked for investing an extra dime for keeping them in the device. Although mobile security is becoming a growing concern globally and it is being treated as important as the desktop.
AVG has over 200 million user base and recently it also strike a deal with China-based Shenzhen as well. We assume that such partnership will give AVG a much needed push in the smartphone market.
