The thing about buying clothes online is that you don’t get to try them beforehand. Sometimes certain brands or styles are cut differently so an S or an M for a particular brand might fit differently compared to another. That being said just because you buy clothes online doesn’t mean you have to settle for ill-fitting clothes.
A new service called zTailor has been launched. It is the brainchild of Men’s Warehouse founder George Zimmer where basically the company will offer tailoring services to customers who make purchases online, such as at Macy’s or Bloomingdale’s. Once your order has been put through, a tailor will come over to ensure that the clothes you bought are a perfect fit.
All shoppers will have to do is book an appointment and a tailor with no less than five years of experience will come over to take your measurements. This should help alleviate the worry about buying clothes online and have them arrive and not fit you, thus putting you through the trouble of having to send it back and get a refund or exchange.
The service is currently in pilot testing in Los Angeles. It is expected to begin trials for New York City, San Diego, San Franciso and the states of Washington, Oregon and Florida and they are planning to go nationwide this fall. Of course going to a tailor’s and feeling the material in the shop will offer a more customized experience, but if you’re too busy or lazy, this sounds like the perfect service for you.
