That being said with its popularity, it isn’t surprising that the show is still heavily torrented and even though it is old, the folks at Warner Bros. appear to be keeping a very close eye on it. Recently the studio has even sent out settlement letters to alleged pirates, asking them to pay a small fee in order to avoid the issue going out of hand.
According to one of the letters sent out and republished by TorrentFreak, it reads, “Although WB understands and appreciates that you are a fan of its content, the unauthorized uploading and downloading of its copyrighted content is a serious matter.” The studio is also asking the individual to pay $20 to settle the issue once and for all.
It does seem like a small amount but according to Warner Bros., “The damage to WB from your conduct substantially exceeds $20, but in the interest of having you stop your infringement of WB content permanently, WB is prepared to make you this settlement offer.” It is unclear if all users have received the $20 settle or if the amount differs from user to user, but it’s an interesting approach.
