Like other major carriers in the country, Verizon is also selling the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. It confirmed that these two devices will be offered to customers soon after they were unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona back in March. It has been a while since these handsets were released by Verizon and today the carrier has rolled out the first software update for both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

Users on Verizon shouldn’t keep their fingers crossed for Android 5.1 though because that’s not what this update brings, even though we know that the Android 5.1 update for Galaxy S6 is currently in development.

Instead, Verizon has released a minor update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. It has a very small download size given that the only thing this update brings is bug fixes and some minor changes.

Bug fixes aside, software version VVRU1AOD5 brings some changes for the layout in HD Voice calling options, a new drawing feature in the photo editor and other minor tweaks. That’s about it.

Verizon has started rolling out this update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, given that the roll out process is always done in stages, it may take a while for the update go live for all users across the country.
