Granted we only need to wait a few minutes before our bread in the toaster is ready for consumption, but if you’re too impatient then you might be interested in a gadget that YouTuber Colin Furze has recently put together, which is basically a knife that is so hot that it can actually toast bread while it slices through it.
So how does this work? Well basically Furze hooked up a modified modified microwave transformer with cables and connected it to what looks like a combination of a hacksaw and a bread knife. Once it is plugged in, the electricity will then proceed to heat up the knife very quickly to the point where you can see it glowing red.
Once it’s all nice and hot, all you’d have to do is take the knife and slice it through the bread and as you can see in the video, it instantly chars the bread thus “toasting” it. Now we said “toasting” in quotes because from what we can tell, it doesn’t really toast the bread, more like it chars the outer surface meaning that on the inside it could still be soft, at least that’s what we surmised from the video.
However we have to admit that it is still a pretty awesome idea. Furze even shows how if you already have sliced bread, all you’d have to do is run the knife over it to get it warm and toasted. You could even use it to spread cold butter as the heat will help it melt. Now this isn’t an actual product but if you’d like to see how it is made, check out the video below, or check out the video above to see it in action.
