According to a multitude of reports, it seems that the Syrian government’s supports have once again hacked a US military website, this time in the form of the US Army’s website. In the process of the hack, they have also defaced it and have included a code that redirects visitors to a page supporting the Syrian government’s regime.
The hackers also claim to have compromised internal databases but according to the military, they claim that no classified or personal data is at risk, but they did not take any chances as the US Army took down its website to ensure that things did not get any worse than they are at the moment, and hopefully in the process beef up its security too.
This follows a recent hack that the US government believes originated from China in which more than 4 million personnel records were exposed to the hackers in the process. The Chinese government has since deflected questions on the matter, claiming that jumping to conclusions was “not responsible” and “counterproductive”.
