While computers have long tried to make your computing experience a more immersive one, how many of those machines can say that they are a truly immersive computer? HP has come up with the Sprout, which has been touted to be the first immersive computer in the world – and boy, what a breakthrough it is, as it boasts of 3D scanning capability.
The Sprout is the first fully integrated desktop 3D scanning solution, where it has the ability to provide users with a simple, quick and affordable method to come up with original 3D content. This particular solution would comprise of Sprout alongside its Intel Real Sense 3D cameras, which so happens to be the proprietary HP 3D Capture Stage and unique 3D capture software.
The 3D Capture Stage accessory comes in the form of a turntable which will function as a platform for the objects that are being scanned. It can tilt 15-degrees automatically as it turns, allowing all aspects of the object to be captured. Taking just a few button taps, the new 3D Capture application will play nice alongside Sprout’s technology in order to come up with a full 3D digital model which can be manipulated. 3D Capture will also be part of a free upgrade to the existing 3D Snapshot software.
Sprout users are able to share 3D objects – and this makes it easier to collaborate with other people, as others rotate or resize an object in order to check out multiple perspectives. Sprout also makes it a snap to print 3D objects using a connected 3D printer. Those who are interested in the Sprout by HP will be able to pick up the 3D Capture Stage accessory from next month onward for $299 a pop, and Sprout itself is available from retailers and resellers in the U.S.
