Last year Obsidian Games released the RPG South Park: The Stick of Truth. As the name implies, this is a game that is based on the South Park universe with the same characters, voice actors, and so on, placed into its own story in a video game context. So far reviews of the game have been largely positive and last year there was even talk about a possible sequel.

The good news is that if you were a fan of the original and were hoping for the sequel to be true, you’re in luck as the sequel has been officially announced. Dubbed South Park: The Fractured But Whole, the game will be developed by Ubisoft San Francisco as opposed to Obsidian Games who did the last one.

Now we’re not sure why Ubisoft decided to develop the game themselves instead of outsourcing it, but hopefully they will do a good job at creating a worthy successor. Unfortunately not much is known about the game at the moment but it is expected to retain some of the elements from the previous title, such as turn-based combat and an RPG feel.

The game is also expected to be released on consoles like the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the PC and it looks like there will not be any support for prev-gen consoles. As expected the game looks to be hilarious, if you enjoy South Park’s style of comedy, so if you have a few minutes to spare check out the trailer in the video above.
