Microsoft has updated the Skype blog with an announcement that the feature will now be open to all users in all countries. “We’ve been hard at work and are pleased to announce that Skype for Web (Beta) is now available worldwide!” Not every language is supported at the moment but it doesn’t mean that you can’t use it.
For those who are interested in taking it for a spin, you can do so by heading on over to the Skype for Web website. This is a handy feature especially if you’re overseas and don’t have your computer with you, or if you want to use Skype on a computer that isn’t yours, like at school or at work.
Recently Microsoft had also rolled out partial support for Chromebooks and Linux computers where users could use the instant messaging feature of Skype for Web, but voice and video call support will be added later.
