If you’ve always wanted to find out what that particular song is, chances are you might turn to apps such as Shazam. It will be able to help you identify a song/artist and with the updates it has received over the years, it will also let you follow your favorite artists. However if you’ve always been curious as to what your favorite artist is listening to, the latest update to Shazam might be worth checking out.
Shazam has recently updated their app and it will now be able to show users what kind of songs their favorite artists and musicians are searching for on Shazam. After all, musicians are people just like us and are probably also discovering new music themselves, looking for the next big inspiration, someone to collaborate with, or just a song to kick back and relax with.
Now not all artists on Shazam will show you what they are discovering. The company has mentioned that they have signed up over 30 artists who will participate in the song-sharing feature, which includes the likes of Pitbull, Calvin Harris, Maroon 5, Meghan Trainor, Coldplay, Usher, One Direction, Alicia Keys, Shakira, Mariah Carey, Imagine Dragons, Linkin Park, and more.
They will be eventually expanding the number to more artists around the world, but according to the company, these artists have been chosen due to the fact that their combined followers add up to about 600 million, so safe to say that these are your influencers which is why they were chosen initially.
The update to Shazam comes on the heels of Apple Music which is expected to be launched later today. Apple Music will have a similar social feature but it remains to be seen who will be the more dominant of the two.
