According to new reports, it turns out that the Samsung Z1 has proven to be quite a hit and has managed to sell more than 1 million units over the course of six months since it first became available. As expected it was chiefly the price of the handset that proved to be one of the more appealing aspects of it.
However given that it does not run on Android which is arguably one of the more popular operating systems for smartphones at the moment, it is understandable why customers might have been a bit apprehensive at the start. That being said the ability to run Android apps and how popular apps such as WhatsApp come preinstalled have given customers the confidence they need to try it out.
Word on the street has it that Samsung is already working on a successor in the form of the Samsung Z2, but unfortunately no word on when that will be launched, but given that Samsung usually announces new products at IFA perhaps we might learn more then.
